Meet Our Team

Anita Marks
Law Student Intern

Anita is currently a 3L, finishing up her last semester at Pepperdine Caruso School of Law. Anita graduated with two Bachelor's Degrees in Political Science and French from Loyola Marymount University in 2019. She then went on to Pepperdine for law school, where she served as President of the Black Law Students Association during her 2L year. As a 3L, Anita continues to serve on the BLSA executive-board as Community Service Chair. Anita has a passion for community service and desires to provide regular legal aid clinics as well as mentorship to aspiring lawyers in underserved communities.
Polymath Legal is very excited that Anita will be joining us as a full-time junior associate attorney upon her graduation in 2022.

Rebecca Maxwell
Executive Assistant

Rebecca was born and raised in Southern California. Rebecca is currently completing her bachelor’s degree in Educational Studies from Arizona State University, and is set to graduate in Summer 2022, with honors. Rebecca has been an executive assistant and project manager for more than four years. In her free time, Rebecca enjoys reading and spending time outdoors with her husband and two kids.

Paralegal

Elyse Toshiko Mills is a passionate relationship-building professional with legal and real estate experience. She is a USC graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations, an active California Real Estate Broker, notary public, and paralegal. Her corporate administrative background gives her an added focus on detail, organization, and systematic practices. Elyse is down to earth and prides herself on providing quality services in a customer-centric environment, focusing on execution and follow-through. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, cooking, and working on various projects.

Lonnie Foote
Legal Assistant

Lonnie moved from Maryland to Southern California, earning a bachelor’s degree in Communication/Media Studies and a Legal Studies minor at La Sierra University. There he gained experience serving as a writing tutor, resident assistant, student dean, multi-organization officer, and even an intramural sports referee. In his spare time, Lonnie also volunteered at elementary schools, sat on numerous committees, and co-founded a live entertainment business.
Since then, Lonnie pivoted to the legal profession. His experience includes a year of education at Pepperdine University’s Caruso School of Law, and a Policy Research internship with the Los Angeles Civil + Human Rights and Equity Department. Outside of work, Lonnie enjoys developing his podcast that covers an extensive array of topics that he hopes will be both educational and entertaining.
